RECENTLY I received an e-mail from a person that i know. Although i have not confirmed it with him, I would like to call him my friend. This person is someone whose musical opinion i hold in the highest of respect. He told me that it may be a good idea to let people know more about what the music means. I believe that that is the best idea i have heard about this goofy little page. So here it is:
What does the music mean to me?? Well you see music to me is not
just music, It is an expression of a persons feelings. To me
i believe that the only way for the mind to talk is through the mouth and
the only way for the soul to talk is through and expression of art.
For me that "art" is music. Whether it be music that i am listening
to that truly touches me, or music that i am making or helping make.
This is why music is so dear to me, it is my souls way of talking to
the world. it is my way of letting people know who i am. This is why when
i play i sometimes just close my eyes and let the music take me, it sounds
foolish i know, but it is my souls way of taking over for a bit.
And when i play i am raw, flat out me, as true as i will ever be.
This is also why i will almost never put down any music, yeah i may
joke but i truly have a genuine respect for all music. I believe
that the lowest people in the world are people that put other peoples music
down. That is like telling them their feelings are not good enough,
that the way they feel is dumb. I just dont like that. People
have a right to express themselves, and we have the right to listen if
we want to.
When a person shares their music with me, I feel more honoured than
anything else. That person is not only sharing their music with me
, they are letting me listen to a piece of them , a chunk of their soul,
the most precious thing they can do.
What do i want to accomplish with Basket 12?? Well to tell the
truth i dont really care if The band "makes it big" or gets rich or all
that other bull shit. But if one song that we play can touch a person
the way music has touched me, if one person listens to us and says, or
thinks, "wow i get that , i have been there i know how that feels"
Then i will be truly happy and i will feel that all the work i have put
in has paid off.
I do hope that this helps to shed some light on a few things, if not
then, well thats okay, but this is jason, like it or hate it this is me.

let you know me and what my music means to me.
